Privacy policy
How TopHity processes visitors’ data. Effective from 8 October 2026.
Data controller

What we do not do
- We do not require registration and do not ask for your name, e-mail or phone number.
- We do not use advertising or analytics cookies, visitor counters or tracking pixels.
- We do not sell or share visitors’ data.
What data is processed
1. Clicks on the “Buy” button
We record the product number, the time, your browser (user-agent) and a hash of your IP address. The hash uses a salt that changes every day, so the IP address itself is not stored and one person’s clicks on different days cannot be linked to each other.
Purpose: counting clicks and understanding which products interest visitors. Legal basis: our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Retention: 13 months, after which the records are deleted automatically.
2. Technical server logs
As on any website, our web server logs the IP address, time, requested page and browser for each request. Purpose: running the site, protecting it against attacks and finding errors. Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Retention: up to 15 days.
3. Cookies
The site does not set cookies for ordinary visitors. The only cookie is a technical session cookie for logging in to the site’s admin panel, which only administrators receive.
Third-party services
- Hosting: Hetzner Online GmbH, Germany. The server is located in the EU; the hosting provider processes data on our behalf as a processor (Art. 28 GDPR).
- Product images are loaded from the shops’ servers. Your browser then contacts the shop’s server, which sees your IP address. The address of our page is not passed to the shop.
- After you press “Buy”, you go to the site of the affiliate programme or network (for example AliExpress Affiliate or Admitad) and the shop’s site. They use their own cookies to credit the purchase and process data as independent controllers — see their privacy policies.
Your rights
You can request access to your data, its correction or deletion, restriction of processing, and you can object to processing. Write to info@tophity.com. Please note: we do not store IP addresses, so it is usually impossible to link a click record to a specific person.
Right to object (Art. 21 GDPR): where we process data on the basis of our legitimate interest, you may object to this processing at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Hungarian supervisory authority — Nemzeti Adatvédelmi és Információszabadság Hatóság (NAIH), naih.hu — or with the authority in your own country.
